If it has been years since you trained properly and you keep telling yourself you'll get back to it, this one is for you.
When Michelle started with Jonathan she hadn't been to a gym or worked out consistently for almost a decade. In her words: "While I didn't need to lose weight, I did need to build muscle and strength that after years of neglect was nonexistent."
A lot of people will recognise that starting point. It was never about the scales. It was about strength that had quietly disappeared over ten years of life getting in the way.
Eighteen months on, here is where she is:
"Over the last 18 months I've built muscle 💪 and gained so much strength. But I'm most proud of the consistency that I've showed with my workouts!"
The muscle came and the strength came, but the thing she is proudest of is showing up. Eighteen months of sessions with Jonathan, week after week. The results are what happens when you do that.
Michelle isn't finished. Her current goal is to improve her diet: making sure she is drinking enough and getting enough protein so she gets the most out of every workout.
Her advice for anyone who hasn't trained in years:
"Just start because it's the small consistent steps every day that make the difference."
Michelle is proof that the hardest part is the first session back. After that it is just the next one, and the one after that.
Great work, Michelle. Almost a decade without training, eighteen months of showing up, and the strength to show for it. And well done Jonathan on building her up from a standing start and keeping her consistent the whole way through 🔥
